• On January 27, 2015, Susan Gouinlock was a guest lecturer at the University of Georgia Law School in a health care fraud and abuse seminar for upper classmen. Susan addressed a wide range of False Claims Act topics and took questions from students and other practitioners in attendance.

  • On January 23, 2015, Marlan Wilbanks spoke at the Southeast Compliance Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. He appeared on a panel that discussed new trends and tactics in FCA cases that are being litigated across the country.

  • On January 15, 2014, Marlan spoke to the Florida Health Law Section of the Florida Bar attorneys in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He talked about a number of cases he is handling and discussed important new trends that are emerging in FCA cases in Florida.

  • On December 11, 2014, Marlan Wilbanks participated on a panel discussion for the Georgia Bar Healthcare Fraud Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The panel discussed key issues that emerged in 2014 in STARK, Kickback and FCA cases across the country.

  • On October 9, 2014, Marlan Wilbanks was a speaker at the Los Angeles Bar Association’s 11th Annual Healthcare Law Compliance Symposium in Los Angeles, California. Marlan’s presentation focused on the new trend in FCA, Stark and Kickback litigation that is emerging in which large FCA cases are being litigated by private counsel such as Wilbanks & Bridges, with or without Government intervention in the case.

  • Marlan Wilbanks and other attorneys discussed “Hot Topics in Qui Tam Cases in Health Care” and “Will This Industry Continue to Generate More than 80% of False Claims Act Recoveries?”

  • Presented by State Bar of Georgia and Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia, Bridge the Gap is a mandatory requirement for newly admitted attorneys to the State Bar of Georgia. It is held twice a year. Marlan has made many presentations at the bi-annual Bridge the Gap seminars since 1994. The focus of his presentation is “Advising Your Clients Wisely so as to Avoid Unnecessary Litigation Exposure and Costs.” He deals with the practical and ethical components of being a lawyer in this day and time.
